Pay What Feels Right (honor system)
This is a little experiment, inspired by Frederic Laloux.
You can buy the book at the fixed price of €26.95, but I’ve also made it available without paywall.
Some books end up not meaning much to us, while others are tremendously helpful. Isn’t paying the same price for both somewhat odd? Also, this book’s message is so dear to my heart that I don’t want to let price keep it from someone with limited means or doubts about the impact it will have.
So here’s the deal: I give you the book, and you give back whatever it was worth to you. It's an experiment in abundance where I trust that when I give, I will also receive.
How does it work?
Put a note in your calendar, say a month out, to consider what you'd like to gift back if you liked the book. (You’ll also get an automatic email a month after download, but don't rely on it as these get lost easily.)
Download the book by clicking the button below and filling out the form.
I believe practicing trust in small ways like this can quietly nurture a broader culture of trust in the world.
If you believe in this way of sharing one’s work, you can help prove that it works.
I’m grateful for your participation and generosity.

Thoughts about PWFR

I spent years researching, testing, preparing, and producing this book.
Pay-What-Feels-Right is an invitation to give what feels right for the value you got from the book and/or the support you want to give me to keep doing this work.
Also, the book is copyrighted. I chose not to complicate the reader’s experience with DRM protection. Please don't forward the copy you download to others, but send them to this page instead.

I remember going on vacation to a village in Wallonia, Belgium. There was a bakery with an entrance hall that stayed open all day, stocked with wonderfully arranged pastries. You took what you wanted and paid at a card machine. No staff. Nothing locked up. No cameras. And everyone paid.
What a beautiful, simple approach avoiding all kinds of costs for control systems that would otherwise drive up the bakery’s prices! With trust, everyone wins.
As I’ve found that organizations work better when they're built on similar principles, I decided to try this approach with my book too.

“Pay-What-Feels-Right” invites us to pause and reflect on the value we bring to one another, through a book. It honors the personal exchange that somehow happens between us, an author and a reader. This is an exchange of gifts rather than a fixed transaction.
I believe giving with the expectation but not the guarantee of receiving, makes for more meaningful relationships, even with people we don’t meet, like an author, and even at hundreds or thousand miles away. It turns a formal business transaction into a meaningful relationship.
